April 30 - Moe's Southwest Grill in Prattville will donate 25% of their proceeds on April 30, 2015 to W.E.L.C.O.M.E. (local food bank).
May 2 - Millbrook Baptist Church (3431 Browns Rd in Millbrook) will host their annual church yard sale from 6:30am - 2pm. Clothes, furniture appliances and more. Bake sale and car wash also available.
May 5 - The annual Joe Sewell Memorial Award Banquet will be held Tuesday, May 5th, at 6:30 pm at the Wetumpka Civic Center. Tickets can be purchased for $25 (while supplies last) at River Bank and Trust on Highway 231 in Wetumpka or by visiting the website at www.joesewellaward.org to download a ticket order form.
May 9 - Predator's Motorcycle Association (PMA) will host the annual Cruisin 'fer Critters Poker Run to benefit the Humane Society of Elmore County Saturday, May 9th at Papa T's, 3420 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL. Registration starts at 11 am with last bike out by 1pm. Each 'hand' is $15 for which you get an event patch, goodie bag, food, door prize ticket and more such as live music by Coustic Chaos, motorcycle games, bike/car wash and just a great day of fun. Best hand wins $250, 2nd best wins $100 and worst hand wins $50 (must be present to win).
May 23 - Second Annual Hot Rods in the Park Car Show will be held in Village Green Park from 9am - 2pm on Saturday, May 23, 2015. This is a fundraiser for W.E.L.C.O.M.E., Millbrook's food bank and the cost of entry is two (2) cans of food. There will be no judging for this event and all cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. Food and beverages will be available. Hosted by Vintage Autos, Inc., Elijah Casey and Robert Whitten. For more information call 334-285-3714.
Second and Fourth Tuesdays - The Millbrook City Council meets in the Municipal Courtroom The City Council meets the second or fourth Tuesday of each month in the Judicial Complex located at 3821 Grandview Road at 6:00 p.m. Work session normally begins at 5:30 p.m. Meeting updates will be posted here as they become available.
Second and Fourth Thursdays - The Millbrook Men's Club meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Millbrook Memorial Center (behind Millbrook Library on Grandview Road). The club is open to interested men who live in the Millbrook area. The club raises money through a pair of annual barbecues to support local park improvements, city ammenities, youth scholarships, scouting troops and other improvements in Millbrook. The club meets for social time at 6:30pm with the business meeting at 7pm.
Thursdays - The Elmore County Extension Offices offers FREE Basic Parenting lessons each Thursday from 1pm-2:30pm. Program covers child development, protective factors, appropriate discipline, communication, and stress management. Tri City Baptist Church burned down in September 2013, and the new building is starting to take shape. Tri City Baptist is located at the site of the old St. Elizabeth Anne Seaton Catholic Church in Millbrook and it was that building that burned. In the meantime the church has continued to meet at an alternative location while their new building is under construction.Read more...
