February 19 - March 1-The Millbrook Community Players present "Clue: The Musical." The internationally popular game is now a fun filled musical which brings the world's best know suspects to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery: who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room and with what weapon. Performances will be held February 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 7:30 pm with matinees February 22 and March 1 at 2:00 pm at the Millbrook Theatre 5720 Main Street, Millbrook.

February 20 - The City of Millbrook Sales Tax Holiday for Severe Weather Preparedness for the period from 12:01 a.m., February 20, 2015 through midnight on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Items related to severe weather preparedness will be exempted from city sales and use taxes in addition to the exemption on state and county sales taxes approved by the Alabama Legislature. February 22 - The Millbrook CIA presents it's Commemorative Black History Month Program, February 22, 2015, 4pm, at the Millbrook Civic Center, Millbrook AL. For more information contact (334) 467-3541 or (334) 285-9148. 

February 23 - As part of its planning process, The Grandview Family YMCA board of directors and staff invite community members to join them and Payne and Associates Architects for a series of focus groups to assist in developing a comprehensive vision for the Camp Grandview YMCA as well as to address ongoing facility needs. The focus groups, which will last approximately one hour, will be held on February 23 at 6:00 pm and on March 2 at 6:00 pm. The meetings will be identical in nature, and community members are asked to participate in only one. The focus group meetings will begin with an overview of the YMCA’s needs and the work that has been done by the board to-date.

February 26 - The Elmore County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has opened registration for a free SKYWARN Basic Storm Spotter Class on February 26, 2015, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the courtroom of the old Elmore County Courthouse, located at 100 E. Commerce St. in downtown Wetumpka. Registration for this course is required. Registration will remain open until 5pm, Feb 26, 2015. This is the only SKYWARN spotter class being hosted by the Elmore County EMA in 2015.

March 17 – The next application deadline for free Certified Nursing Assistant training provided by the City of Millbrook and Trenholm State Technical College is March 17, 2015 for course dates March 31 – April 30, 2015. Are you interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at NO COST to you? The City of Millbrook in conjunction with Trenholm State Technical College will continue to offer a CNA training program that is funded by a grant from the Governor's Office of Workforce Development of the State of Alabama. NO FEES, NO COSTS to the students. The 5-week course is free; it includes books, course materials and the fee for the certification test. Applications and additional information are available at the Millbrook Economic Development Office or City Hall. Qualified applicants must meet the following requirements: be a resident of the Millbrook area, have a High School Diploma or GED, pass a drug screen and TB skin test, keep 90% attendance for the entire 5 week program, and pass the 5 week-program and the state exam to become certified. Please be advised that NOT ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. A selection committee will review the applications and the accepted students will be notified. April 11 - Enjoy nature at its best at the 11th Annual Alabama Flora and Fauna Arts Festival at Lanark in Millbrook, Alabama on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 8 am to 6 pm. Admission is free. A plant presentation will be held in the back of the Heirloom Garden. There will be guest speakers, vendors and the annual plant sale Saturday with the proceeds benefiting the Lanark Gardens. Vendors will be on hand showcasing their goods during the festival.

April 11 - Coosada Baptist Church will have the annual Old fashioned gospel singing with a large Gaither style choir at 6pm.

Ongoing Events:

Second and Fourth Tuesdays - The Millbrook City Council meets in the Municipal Courtroom The City Council meets the second or fourth Tuesday of each month in the Judicial Complex located at 3821 Grandview Road at 6:00 p.m. Work session normally begins at 5:30 p.m. Meeting updates will be posted here as they become available.

Second and Fourth Thursdays - The Millbrook Men's Club meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Millbrook Memorial Center (behind Millbrook Library on Grandview Road). The club is open to interested men who live in the Millbrook area. The club raises money through a pair of annual barbecues to support local park improvements, city ammenities, youth scholarships, scouting troops and other improvements in Millbrook. The club meets for social time at 6:30pm with the business meeting at 7pm.

First Wednesdays - The Millbrook Library Book Club invites all area readers to attend a book discussion group on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are usually held at 10:00am at the Millbrook Library although evening meetings are sometimes scheduled. Our meeting schedule is arranged to meet the needs of the attendees. Thursdays - The Elmore County Extension Offices offers FREE Basic Parenting lessons each Thursday from 1pm-2:30pm. Program covers child development, protective factors, appropriate discipline, communication, and stress management.
