September 16 - W.E.L.C.O.M.E. will host their fall Mobile Pantry event on September 16. This event is an opportunity to give struggling families a week's worth of groceries without charge. Families that want to receive the groceries must register with W.E.L.C.O.M.E. prior to the day of the event. Volunteers are needed to help work. The Church At The Brook and W.E.L.C.O.M.E. are sponsoring this event. The W.E.L.C.O.M.E. office is open on Thursdays between 8:00am and 2:00pm to register. For more information contact W.E.L.C.O.M.E. September 17 - The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual membership luncheon on September 17, 2015 from 11:30am until 1:00pm at the Millbrook Civic Center. You do not have to be a chamber member to attend. Everyone is invited.

September 17 - Elmore County Night of Bands 2015 will be at Foshee Henderson Stadium on the Stanhope Elmore High School campus on September 17th, 2015 at 6:00pm. Stanhope Elmore High School will be hosting the Holtville High School Band, the Eclectic High School Band, the Wetumpka High School Band, the Tallassee High School Band, AND in exhibition Troy University's "Sound of the South." This is this the first time SEHS has been able to host this event. September 19 - 20 - Alabama Wildlife Federation hosts GO FISH...Catch & Release Weekend September 19 & 20 at the Alabama Natuire Center (off Edgewood Road in Millbrook. For more information visit http://www.alabamawildlife.org

September 20 - 10th Annual Bark in the Park at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka. Various displays/demonstrations including: agility, flyball & k-9 nosework, pup parade, microchiping, 'ask a vet' and more. Admission fee to Bark in the Park is $5/person for 13-years and older. September 23 - The Millbrook-Area Chamber of Commerce will host their Business Before Hours event September 23, 2015 8:00 – 9:00am at the MACC office (3453a Main Street, Millbrook) The event will be hosted by Troy University.

September 24 - October 4 - Millbrook Community Players Present "ROUTE 66" Dinner Theatre September 24, 25, 26, October 2, 3 at 7:30pm and September 27 and October 4 at 2:00pm. Beginning with the sounds of 1950s Chicago, traveling along the Main Street of America to the California coast with the surf music of the 1960s, this exciting musical revue features 34 of the greatest Rock and Road hits of the 20th century! September 25 - The Millbrook Area Chamber of commerce will hold their 2nd Annual Clay Shoot at Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sportsclub, 4758 Lower Wetumpka Road. Two shooting sessions at 10am and 1pm. Entry fee $100/individual $400/team. Lunch provided. Shotgun and golf cart rental available. Ammunition available for purchase.

September 26 - Elmore County Emergency Management Agency's 7th Annual Preparedness Fair and Safety Saturday on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Lowe's of Wetumpka. This family friendly event is free to the public.

Ongoing Events:

Second and Fourth Tuesdays - The Millbrook City Council meets in the Municipal Courtroom The City Council meets the second or fourth Tuesday of each month in the Judicial Complex located at 3821 Grandview Road at 6:00 p.m. Work session normally begins at 5:30 p.m. Meeting updates will be posted here as they become available.

Second and Fourth Thursdays - The Millbrook Men's Club meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Millbrook Memorial Center (behind Millbrook Library on Grandview Road). The club is open to interested men who live in the Millbrook area. The club raises money through a pair of annual barbecues to support local park improvements, city ammenities, youth scholarships, scouting troops and other improvements in Millbrook. The club meets for social time at 6:30pm with the business meeting at 7pm.

First Wednesdays - The Millbrook Library Book Club invites all area readers to attend a book discussion group on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are usually held at 10:00a.m. at the Millbrook Library although evening meetings are sometimes scheduled. Our meeting schedule is arranged to meet the needs of the attendees. Thursdays - The Elmore County Extension Offices offers FREE Basic Parenting lessons each Thursday from 1pm-2:30pm. Program covers child development, protective factors, appropriate discipline, communication, and stress management.
