March 29 - The next City of Millbrook Cleanup Day will be March 29, 2014 from 7:00 a.m. until noon. Waste Management will have trucks located at City Hall for your convenience. This is an opportunity to get rid of bulky items in your attic, storage shed and yard. Household and yard trash will be accepted. No flammable or toxic materials such as paint, oils, appliances containing freon, etc. will be accepted. Call Millbrook City Hall 285-6428 for additional information.
April 4- 5 - The City of Millbrook and Elmore County are proud to again host the Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters Final Leg of the Alabama State Championship and National Qualifier Tournament April 4-5, 2014. The entire community welcomes Crappie Masters to the area and is committed to make the Alabama tournament an enjoyable experience for everyone. For those who are planning a trip to Millbrook and for those who are longtime residents, expect an exciting time. "Weigh-Ins" will be at Mill Creek Sports Complex. The winner of the Alabama tournament will qualify to compete in the Bass Pro Shops National Crappie Masters Championship Tournament. The schedule of events, registration forms, and other information are available on their web site www.crappiemasters.net.
April 5 - The Millbrook-Coosada Kiwanis Club will host the 2014 Annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday, April 5, 2014 6:00 am – 11:00 am at Plantation House and Gardens Restaurant, Grandview Road, Millbrook. All you can eat tickets $6/adult, $3/under 12. All proceeds used to help youth in our area through the Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program, and to support local libraries.

April 12 - AWF Alabama Flora and Fauna Arts Festival Enjoy nature at its best at the 10th Annual Alabama Flora and Fauna Arts Festival at Lanark on Saturday, April 12, 2014. This artistic celebration of Alabama's magnificent plants and wildlife will feature the original nature-themed works of Alabama artists in a variety of mediums and styles, to include ready-to hang wildlife and floral paintings, wood and stone sculpted items, fine prints, gourd art, photography and much more! The Alabama Flora and Fauna Arts Festival is a juried event that is free and open to the general public on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 8 am to 6 pm. Only fine art and fine crafts will be exhibited at this event. Festival Day will also include plant presentations with guest speakers, vendors and the annual plant sale; proceeds benefiting the Lanark Gardens. Master Gardeners from various counties will have information tables, and there will be activities for the children. After you have been all-inspired at the Festival, hike the trails and enjoy beautiful flowers and nature's splendor, April 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Although the Festival is only a one day event, the Alabama Nature Center will be open to the general public Sunday, April 13 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
April 12 the Central Alabama Southern Gospel Music Association (CASGMA) will be holding their 21st Annual Convention and Awards Show at the Millbrook Theater, Main Street, Millbrook at 6pm. The concert will feature members of the CASGMA and special guest Jason Steege from Dothan. No admission will be charged and a love offering will be taken. April 19 – The Community Improvement Association will hold its Inaugural Family Day in the Park Festival on April 19, 2014 at Village Green Park. The event is a fundraiser and community service day. Proceeds from this event will go to the Kids Journey Summer Program. The Family Day will feature various booths including artists drawings, jewelry, kitchen accessories, gourmet and ethnic food products, and woodworking pieces. There will also be live entertainment and children's activities during the festival. April 19 - AWF Nature Eggstravaganza and Egg Hunt at the Alabama Nature Center Saturday, April 19 10:00 am. Hop on down to the Alabama Nature Center April 19 for the first-ever Nature Eggstravaganza and Egg Hunt! Hundreds of plastic eggs and prizes will be scattered on the lawn to be gathered for children 12 and under. The hunt begins at 10:00 am and prizes will be awarded to those who find eggs with the Alabama Nature Center logo inside. This event will feature holiday-themed educational presentations, crafts, a chance to play with some baby chicks and much more. After the hunt, bring a picnic lunch and enjoy hiking five miles of scenic Alabama Nature Center trails while learning about the fascinating natural history of central Alabama. All visitors of the Alabama Nature Center must check in at the Pavilion Outpost located inside the Lanark Pavilion before hiking on the trails or attending the hunt. General Admission is $4 per person/per day for adults, $2 per person/per day for ages 4 to 12, and children under 3 are free. The Alabama Nature Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. April 24 - Alabama Wildlife Federation will host its annual AWF/Alabama Army National Guard Wild Game Cook-Off at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course Driving Range on Thursday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m. Cook teams are needed, so grab your apron, shine up your grill and get ready to battle! Entry for the cook teams is free, but teams must pre-register prior to the day of the event at www.alabamawildlife.org. Categories include wild game, fish and fowl. Prizes will be awarded to first through third place in each division, as well as Best Overall and Best Presentation. The overall winner will be invited to the state finals held at Lanark in Millbrook on August 9, 2014 to compete for the title of AWF 2014 Wild Game Cook-Off State Champion. In addition to all the outstanding food, a major highlight of the cook-off will be assorted raffle packages, a silent auction and live music. Tickets are $50 per person/per couple, and proceeds benefit Alabama Wildlife Federation's programs and projects. The ticket price includes one Alabama Wildlife Federation membership, a subscription to the Alabama Wildlife magazine, and all of the food you can eat.

May 10 – City of Millbrook will host Cops & Kids Day 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Village Green Park. This event is a great way to get to know your Millbrook Police Department better. Free t-shirts while they last, food and fun activities. Sponsored by the Millbrook Police Department and area businesses
