Special to The Indy

The Elmore County Bama Chapter of the University of Alabama National Alumni Association met recently to award local scholarships to entering University of Alabama freshmen for the coming year. Those scholarships awarded include the Loryn Brown Memorial Scholarship; the Joe A. Macon, Jr., Memorial Scholarship; and the Elmore County Bama Chapter endowed scholarship. All scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and community service as well as need.

The chapter is pleased to announce the following winners: Loryn Alexandria Brown Memorial Scholarships to Lindsey McGowin, Holtville High School, and Faith Feaga, Wetumpka High School; Joe A. Macon, Jr., Memorial Scholarship to Jonathan Stewart, Wetumpa High School; and Elmore County Bama Chapter scholarship to Chandler Thornton, Edgewood Academy.
