The United States Achievement Academy recently recognized Ashley Wiggins of Deatsville as a student of excellence in fine arts. This is a prestigous honor very few students hope to attain. In fact, the Academy recognizes fewer than 10% of all American high school students. Wiggins, who will begin her senior year at Holtville High School after the summer break, was nominated for this honor by Ashley Strahm, her school band director. Ashley will appear in the United States Achievement Acadmey's Official Yearbook which is published nationally.
"Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America's history. Certainly, United states Acheivement Acadmey students should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement," said Dr. George Stevens, Founder of the United States Achievement Academy
In addition to her work in the high school band, Wiggins plays saxophone for her church during two services per week. She is also active with the Millbrook Community Players live theatre group. Ashley has been selected for:Troy University Honor Band, JSU Honor Band, Elmore County Honor Band.
The United States Achievement Academy recognizes students upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors and other qualified sponsors and upon Standards for Selection set forth by the Academy. The Standards for Selection include: academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, cooperative spirit and dependability in addition to a recomendation from a qualified sponsor.
