The Millbrook Fire Department held its annual Firemen's Ball in early December. Each year three members of the department are recognized and rewarded for outstanding work in the department. The department at large selects a Firefigther of the Year and EMT of the Year by popular vote. Chief Larry Brown and Assistant Chief Wayne Barlow also confer each year to recognize someone with the Chief's Award. Several city officials including Mayor Al Kelley, Council President Fred Watts, and council members Sam Rayburn and Earle Monroe were present and added their congratulations to the winners. The award ceremony is typically followed by dinner and dancing.
