The Millbrook Independent has confirmed two armed robberies that occurred late Saturday/early Sunday morning in Millbrook. Just before midnight Saturday, February 1st a man attempting to get cash from his local bank's ATM near Food Outlet was robbed.

A black male, armed with a gun, approached the victim and demanded the victim withdraw all of his money from the bank. The thief then left the scene on foot. About four hours later, another incident occurred at Hardee's when a black male shot his way through a glass door and threatened employees with a gun, taking an undetermined amount of cash.

Presently, officers are investigating but no one is in custody. Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson is urging businesses and civilians to be extremely cautious, and take note of their surroundings at all times.

In particular, if you are visiting an ATM at any bank, it may be a good idea to do so in daylight hours.

We will share any further information as soon as we know it.
