The East Memorial Christian Academy (EMCA) JV Boys basketball team (pictured) captured the AISA Class 2A state championship at Lowndes Academy.

Coach Greg Parker's 5th seeded JV team defeated the third seeded Coosa Valley Rebels, the second seeded Pickens Academy Pirates and the top seeded Eastwood Academy Warriors en route to the overall state championship, the first for the JV program at EMCA.
Coach Emily Little's JV girls team advanced to the state semi-finals by defeating the host team Lowndes before losing to eventual runner-up Wilcox Academy. Both teams had players named to the All-Ttournament team. Lee Crawford and Brant Evans were named to the JV boys all tournament team and Gabby White was named to the JV girls all tournament team. Aaron Watkins was named the tournament Most Valuable Player for the JV boys.

Hello folk's. We had a quite a few upsets this past weekend, and I am sure more will come this week. I must admit, I was one of those who jumped on the Georgia bandwagon about the Bulldogs being such a good team. Well, maybe they are not that great but still a good team. Georgia, USC, Va. Tech and Louisville all lost. As expected Bama steamrolled over So. Miss and Auburn had the week off.Read more...
