The Millbrook First United Methodist Church held their annual Mardi Gras Run last weekend, eventhough the weather was less than ideal. A chilly, wet morning did not dampen the spirits of a few hundred runners participating in the 5k, 8k, and 1-mile runs. There were at least two dozen phantom runners in this event; those who pay the fee but sit out the actual run. The proceeds raised from runners and phantoms alike will be used to supplement missions for the church both local and abroad.
The Spirit of Christmas Committee invites the public to the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and the Christmas Festival & Parade Saturday, December 6. The Annual Tree Lighting will be held at Village Green Park Thursday, December 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. There will be live music and concessions and the park will be adorned with new and newly refurbished lighting.Read more...
