Martin, Sandra Blevins, 62, of Coosa County, Alabama, departed for her eternal home early this morning, after medical complications which started last week, overcame her.
Sandra was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana and spent most of her adult life in Texas before retiring to Millbrook, Alabama in 2009.
She precedes her four children, Lance Martin, Kelly Martin, Michelle Martin and Kaila Toone, who had all lived nearby, and attended Journey Church with her through the last several years. Pastor Mike Mozingo prayed with the family as they each spent precious time throughout the last week together,
She leaves her younger brother Audie Lee Blevins, in Hawaii and younger sister, Nancy Goudeau, from Mississippi as well as 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many extended family members. She is preceded by her loving parents, of Bossier City, Louisiana and one grandson, Lance Martin, Jr. of Prattville.
Sandy had just finished work on her ancestral lineage wherein she had discovered her Alabama Indian heritage. She was a wise and thoughtful mother who raised four children as a single mother, often working two jobs, but never missing an event or activity. She lived a simple and God loving life, never forgot a birthday or anniversary for those she loved, was amaster gardener and enjoyed her beloved dogs.
The family celebrates a life well lived and a woman well loved who graced all with unwavering kindness, care and concern and taught them to love one another, unconditionally, above all else.
To a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and a beautiful spirit - until we meet again.
