The Stanhope Elmore quarterback will head to Birmingham for his future football playing days. Jaryus Wilson signed to play football with Miles College and he hopes to have an impact on the field quickly. "It is a dream come true for me to play in college. I can't wait to get there and get going," Wilson said.
Wilson passed for 14 touchdowns and ran for 8 more in his senior year with the Mustangs. Although he was recruited as a quarterback Wilson said he knows he may play "all over the field" after talking with Miles coaches. "He is a terrific athlete and he showed his versatility in his senior year. I feel confident he will be successfuil at the next level," Mustangs head coacxh Jeff Foshee said.
Students at Coosada Elementary School check out the new turf on their recess area made of recycled tires. The costly project ($38,000) was made possible thanks to a grant from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management’s Alabama Scrap Tire Fund.

Hello folks. Week #2 is behind us and we start to look forward to another fine weekend. What did we learn from week #2? Auburn has an almost unstoppable offense. Alabama's offense and defense looked much better than last week, but this was against a cup cake team. South Carolina, coming off a 3 TD loss to Texas A&M, almost walked the plank against the East Carolina Pirates, finally winning by only 10 points. South Carolina either has some major problems or they were way overrated. Also, one of my upsets came true as Ohio ST went down against Virginia. Let's take a look at this week's action.Read more...
