The Millbrook Revelers hosted a blowout party on Saturday, February 22 with the Millbrook Mardi Gras Festival and Parade. Thousands joined the party in Village Green Park and the streets of Millbrook during the daylong celebration. Mild weather helped the turnout as visitors swarmed into the park beginning at 9am. Nearly 100 vendors selling everything from food and gifts to ride tickets on more than a dozen attractions filled the park. At noon the parade began rolling down Main Street lead by Lt. Governor Kay Ivey, who served as the parade's Grand Marshal. The Millbrook Revelers Krewe, which sponsors the festival and parade, has grown so much that two floats were needed to transport them. King and Queen John Drew and Pat Moore waved to the crowd and passed out beads, Moon Pies and toys to chants of 'throw me something mister.'
