Robyn Renee Bryant, age 52, of Coosada, died Sunday March 2, 2014. She was born to G. Preston and Gloria Bryant on July 2, 1961, in Birmingham, AL. Robyn graduated from Stanhope Elmore High School in 1979 and received a BA in Theater from Huntingdon College in 1982. She lived in Nashville, TN for several years before relocating to Los Angeles, CA in 1989. After many years working in the insurance world, Robyn began a new career in music, healing, and visual arts. She was passionate about helping people understand the mind-body-spirit connection and about revealing the truest essence of each subject in her paintings and sketches. She taught private art, piano, creative movement, and played a variety of Native American flutes, often volunteering her flute talents to raise money and awareness toward reforestation and education initiatives in Southern California. Robyn also loved all animals, great and small. She often cared for wounded wildlife and either nursed them back to health and gave them a home, or took them to a sanctuary that would. Robyn is survived by her parents, Preston and Gloria; her brother, Keith Waters of Birmingham, AL; and her four sisters: Sherry Alexander of Falkville, AL; Shannon Bryant of Bronxville, NY; Heather Franz of Columbia, MD; and Brooke Bryant Nashville, TN; three neices, one nephew and two great nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Redbirds Vision, or your local humane shelter. A memorial service be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Brookside Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Millbrook, AL.
