The Dollar General store on Highway 14 is spending approximately $1 million on their relocation - across the street. The new store is already under construction on Highway 14 next to Marvin's building supply store.
Leisa Finley, Executive Dirtector of the Elmore County Economic Development Authority, says ECEDA has been working with Dollar General to find a suitable lot to relocate. Dan Power, a member of the ECEDA board from Millbrook had property available literally right across the street from the existing store.
"They have told me that they expect to double their revenue just by relocating to a lot with more parking and improved lighting," Finley told The Indy.
The new store is expected to be open by this summer, Finley says. This is the first project ECEDA is working on to begin construction this year.
