Hooper, Milan Holland, Jr., 80, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2014. A celebration of life will be held at Hope Hull United Methodist Church, Hope Hull, Alabama, on April 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Visitation with the family was held one hour prior to service. A private burial was held on Mount Vernon, Georgia. Mr. Hooper is preceded in death by his parents, Milan Holland Hooper, Sr. and Helen Smith Moore. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; daughters, Meg Hooper, Kathy Kramer (Keith); son Milan Holland Hooper, III; step- daughters, Tina Graudins (Chuck), Debbie Jarman (Danny); step-son, David Blacka (Leslie); and many grandchildren. Humphrey, Mrs. Dorothy Dean age 90, a resident of Millbrook, AL formerly of Lineville, AL passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from Millbrook First United Methodist Church with Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating. The interment followed at Clay County Memory Gardens. The family received friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Humphrey was preceded in death by her husband Warren D. Humphrey. She is survived by her daughters Susan Nix (Soap) of Millbrook, AL, Teresa Blevins (Earl) of Longwood, FL, Melinda Humphrey of Sanford, NC, sister Louise Sewell of Alexander City, AL, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A few weeks ago Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jim Main (pictured right) spoke to students at the Jones School of Law at Faulkner University. In addition to reviewing the diversity of the Alabama Supreme Court, Main stressed the importance of civics education in our schools and the importance of promoting civics by the soon to be lawyers.Read more...
