As the Post 133 team prepares for a tournament in Calera, a recent win at the Marion Invitational (hosted at the Marion Institue) swelled the Post 133 record to 25-3 for the season.

It's pretty much the same thing every summer. Millbrook's American Legion Post 133 is beating up on the competition.
The team is currently preparing for the District Tournament in Calera and just got back from winning another tournament. The team won 4 straight games in the Marion Invitational which was played at Marion Institute. The tournament victory swelled the Post 133 record to 25-3 for the season.
The team is comprised of "high school eligible" players from Edgewood Academy, Marbury, Prattville and Stanhope Elmore. Head coach is Wade Atchley, who has coached the team in 8 of the last 10 years.
Under Atchley, Post 133 has won one state championship, finshed as state runner up twice, and has qualified for the state tourney 6 times.
"We have had a very good summer and we have played good baseball," Atchley said. "We have a group that has done it the old fashion way...with good defense and sound pitching."
Atchley said he has 6 pitchers and cannot name any single pitcher as the team number's ace. "We got a group we can start and they all have pitched very well. The team has total confidence regardless of who is on the mound," Atchley said. The coach has got to be happy with the Post 133 pitching staff. The entire staff holds an ERA of only 2.35, an amazing statistic. "You will win ball games when your pitchers don't give up earned runs and your defense doesn't make errors. It has been a great effort by this team for the entire summer." Atchley remarked.
Post 133 will head to the State Tournament if it finishes first or second in the District Tournament. The State Tournament will be at Troy University.
