Estes, Mrs. Minnie Alberta age 96, a resident of Prattville, AL passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Lester officiating. The interment followed at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Estes is survived by her daughters Nanette Simmons (Barry) of Eclectic, AL, Gloria Kleinsasser of Wetumpka, AL, Linda Carlisle (Bob) of Pike Road , AL, Sharon Ray-Jones (Harold) of Millbrook, AL, nine grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Randy Cochran, Byron Bruner, Eric Thomason, Ethan Bruner, Chad Garner, Nicholas Hoots. She was preceded in death by her husband Hezekiah Estes, parents Doc & Janie Wilson Wilkins, granddaughters Gimmie Leigh Kleinsasser, Felicia Ray Hoots and grandson Weston Estes Cochran. She was a member of Hunter Station Baptist Church and attended Fannin Road Baptist Church. The family received friends one hour prior to services. Brookside Funeral Home of Millbrook, AL directing.
Strachan, Mr. Thomas age 81 a resident of Millbrook, AL went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2014. Mr. Strachan was preceded in death by his parents Thomas D. and Agnes Strachan, brothers Adam Strachan and Stuart Strachan. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Donna Jean Mongerson Strachan; children Craig A., Thomas C., Stuart M., and Kimberly Ann Mosley (Michael Bryant Mosley), several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. He was retired Senior MSgt with the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War and served in the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Strachan was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rites 32nd Degree and a member of the Aloha Shriners of Hawaii. Tom was a avid golfer, working for the City of Montgomery at Lagoon Park for twenty years and also was appointed Professor at AUM for three years. He graduated from AUM with a Bachelor and Masters degrees in Criminal Justice. After retiring he continued to work with the Montgomery Golf Association Mens Group and with the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Capital Hills in Prattville, AL. He was also a Soccer official and member of a Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Father Charles Troncale officiating. Hill, Mr. Alfred Braden Sr. "AL", age 79, a resident of Montgomery, AL passed away on July 16, 2014 at a local hospital. Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, 10 a.m. at Frazer United Methodist Church, Montgomery, AL with Rev. Gil Barrow officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL. Mr. Hill was a member of Frazier United Methodist Church, he was an educator in Montgomery School System for many years and also served in the USAF. Survivors include, wife of 58 years, Barbara C. Hill of Montgomery, AL; son, Alfred B. (Dana) Hill Jr., granddaughter, Elizabeth-Anne Dakin Hill of Pike Road, AL; grandson, William Braden Perry Hill of Pike Road, AL; nieces, Laura Pope of Madison, AL; Leslie Puckett of Decatur, AL; nephew, James G. Hill of Mooresville, AL; Family received friends on Saturday, July 19, 2014, 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the church. Brookside Funeral Home of Millbrook, AL directing.
