Bryan E. Morgan of Prattville (pictured) has qualified to run for the Senate District 30 seat. Morgan will run as an independent against GOP candidate Clyde Chambliss, also of Prattville.
A graduate of the University of Alabama and Cumberland School of Law, Morgan is an attorney who served as the Executive Director of the Alabama Office of Prosecution Services and the Alabama District Attorneys Association. From 1996-1997 he worked at the Pentagon in the Chief Counsel's Office, National Guard Bureau, Washington, D.C. He retired in June 2012 as a Colonel and the full-time Attorney for the Alabama National Guard serving in that role from 1997-2012.
He currently practices law in Prattville, Alabama spending most of his time assisting military veterans.
Morgan gathered nearly 2,000 signatures, far more than the amount needed, to be on the November ballot as an independent. "I'm running as an independent because I believe the political parties have not been fair and just to the people of this state. I am convinced that the people are best served when an elected official is not controlled by a party or a faction," Morgan said. Morgan's campaign website is bryanearlmorgan.com.
