Thomas, Mr. Arville Oscar age 73, a resident of Wetumpka, AL passed away on Monday August 4, 2014 at his residence. Graveside services were held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from Brookside Memorial Gardens with Rev. Shane Russell and Rev. Donald Payne officiating. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Thomas. He is survived by his daughters Jackie Dykes (Ricky) of Louisiana, Tracey Floyd of Louisiana, Kelly Gibson (Dennis) of Wetumpka, AL, son Terry Thomas of LaFayette, GA, sisters Crystal Wallace (David) of Wetumpka, AL, Tammy Dison of Prattville, AL, Joann Thomas of Wetumpka, AL, Susie Meja of Montgomery, AL, brother Joe Thomas (Rhonda) of Prattville, AL, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Pallbearers were his grandsons. The family received friends on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Brookside Funeral Home of Millbrook, AL directing.
Morris, Mr. Charles H., Jr. "Charlie" age 45 a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away on August 3, 2014. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Eubanks officiating. Burial followed at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL. Mr. Morris owned and operated D & C Tree Service of Millbrook. He is survived by his wife Michelle Morris, mother Margaret R. Morris, aunt Ann Gill and many friends. Pallbearers were David Horn, Anthony Grogan, Paul Spears, Chris Eades, Robert Mathews, Andy Turner and Robert Baker. Garner, Mr. Charles Wayne age 75, a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away on Friday August 8, 2014 at a local hospital. There was visitation on Tuesday August 12, 2014 starting at 12 noon at his residence at 2521 Main Street Millbrook, Al 36054. Mr. Garner was a United States Navy Veteran serving on the USS Hassayampa. He was a volunteer fireman with Coosada, Millbrook and Elmore VFD. and a member of the coffee club at Liberty Gas Station. He is survived by his wife Carolyn E. Garner of Millbrook, AL, daughters Amanda Garner of Millbrook, AL, Melody Milton (Michael) of Millbrook, AL, Michelle Baker (Don) of Holtville, AL, Manda Sanders of Holtville, AL, sons Wayne Garner (Marlenia) of Millbrook, AL, Bryan Garner of Millbrook, AL, Mark Sanders (Michelle) of Elmore, AL, Matthew Sanders of Elmore, AL, sister Carol Jean Bryant (Sonny) of Decatur, AL, brother Dale Garner (Jackie) of Bessemer, AL ten grandchildren and two great grandsons. Phillips, Mr. Herman Ronald, age 72, a resident of Millbrook, AL. passed away on August 8, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Phillips were held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 2 p.m at Brookside Funeral Home Chapel with pastor John Schmit officiating. Interment followed at the Midway Cemetery in Jemison, AL. Mr. Phillips served in Vietnam in the USAF and retired from civil service. The family received friends on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home. Mr. Phillips is survived by wife Irene Phillips, daughters Vikki (Alan) Adams, Cindi (Keith) Ellison, grandchildren Garett Mims, Kimberly Ellison, Carleigh Ellison, Kace Ellison, Grayson Adams, Gevin Adams and three great grandchildren. Pace, Mr. John Alan age 53, a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Bill McFarland officiating. Interment followed at Brookside Memorial Gardens. Mr. Pace is survived by his wife Kim Pace, sons James Pace and Chris Pace, sisters Evelyn Connor (James), Ann Crippen (Gary), brother Kenny Pace (Melissa) and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were David Smith, Donnie Wayne Smith, Toby Green, Justin Green, Joel Rogers and Mickey Rogers. Cook, Mr. Willie Brown, age 68, a resident of Wetumpka, AL passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Rev. Psalmonds officiating. The interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cook is survived by his wife Hattie Mae Cook of Wetumpka, AL, daughters Nyaitiyo Cook of Boston, Mass, Akosua Cook of Chattanooga, TN, sons William Cook, Dywane Cook, Khalid Cook all of Boston, Mass, mother Mary C. Cook of Wetumpka, AL, brothers John Cook, Jr., and Edward Cook both of Wetumpka, AL, and four grandchildren.

Anderson, III, Mr. John Henry, a resident of Millbrook, AL, expired Sun., Aug. 3, 2014. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillips-Riley Funeral Home with Evangelist Virginia Cary officiating. Burial followed with military honors at Myers Cemetery with the staff of Phillips-Riley Funeral Home directing. He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife, Dorothy Anderson and several other relatives and friends.
Tri City Baptist Church burned down in September 2013, and the new building is starting to take shape. Tri City Baptist is located at the site of the old St. Elizabeth Anne Seaton Catholic Church in Millbrook and it was that building that burned. In the meantime the church has continued to meet at an alternative location while their new building is under construction.Read more...
