Students and teachers are off to a great start at Airport Road Intermediate School. They were awash with school supplies from numerous sources including the Millbrook Seasoned Seniors who brought in hundreds of office and school supply items. As usual parents and teachers also purchased many school supplies themselves in preparation for the new school year. Assistant Principal Sharon Earl says the students are already off to a good start and seem enthusiastic about the new year.

The halls of ARIS are full of new faces. In addition to a whole new class of incoming students there are several new teaching and administrative folk following many retirements last year. Kelle Garmon is the new school secretary and one of the most likely people parents and members of the general public will encounter at the school. Sandy Barfoot is the new school guidance counselor replacing Irene Wong who served in that role even when the school was located at Robinson Springs Elementary. Allison Friar and YaLynda Nevlous are new third grade teachers at ARIS this year and Danielle Stevens is a new 4th grade teacher. Jared Parker migrated to ARIS from Coosada Elementary School.
