Rev. Parker celebrates 28 years

Rev. M. H. Parker has spent the last twenty eight years as Pastor of Goodship Missionary Baptist Church. The congregation recently organized a reception for Parker in recognition of his devotion and service to the church and to the Millbrook community.

The congregation of Goodship Missionary Baptist Church celebrated a milestone recently when they organized a reception for the Rev. M. H. Parker. He has served as pastor of the church for 28 consecutive years.
Parker came to the historic church  in 1979. He says that a lot has changed during his time at Goodship.
“It’s been 28 years. I can’t lie and say that they’ve all been without problems, but all in all I’ve been blessed,” Parker said.
A fire broke out in the church four years ago but earlier this year the church reopened on its original grounds after a complete renovation.
The original church was built in the late 19th century.
