Millbrook’s Post 133 continues to roll

By ART PARKER

American Legion Post 133 won 3 and dropped only one game this past week while making its home debut.
In last Friday’s doubleheader against the Wiregrass Cardinals, Post 133 lost the opener and committed eight errors. The sloppy play led to a 15-2 thumping.
The Millbrook gang came back in the nightcap behind solid pitching from Jonathan Ingram, who tossed a one hitter and went the distance in a 7-0 win.
Ingram fanned 10 batters in what is the best pitching performance of the year for Post 133.
On Saturday Post 133 dealt a pair of losses to Opelika. Justin Chandler delivered a key hit to bring Post 133 from behind in the first game and secure a 5-4 win.
In the second game of the doubleheader Brett Roney and Rob Sharker pitched well and led Post 133 to a 6-4 victory.  Kyle Granger, Hunter Kilcrease and Brett Roney provided the majority of the offense punch on Saturday.
Post 133 will play Prattville in a doubleheader early in the week and will be back at home for  doubleheader against the Clanton legion senior team.
Post 133 now stand at 13-4 for the season.
