historical society sock hop. Lights were dimmed and disco balls were
lit, putting everybody into a party mood. Beach balls and hula hoops
lay scattered on the floor, beckoning the attendees to join in the fun
The music, decorations and ambiance took people back to the days of golden

By BRIAN HODGE The Alabama Nature Center at Lanark, headquarters for the Alabama Wildlife
Federation was open to the general public again for the second time since
it opened its doors last month. Every third weekend of the month the ANC
is open for the public to walk the trails and grounds. This time around
a special educational program, "Snakes of Alabama",” was on the agenda.

the country with plenty of dry ground, scorched leaves and flammable vegetation.
One thing that has been in no short supply is the yearly enthusiasm consumers
have over Independence Day and the ensuing fireworks displays. But officials
say that even with recent rain showers the threat of fire from fireworks

Penelope Faulk, (Shirley Temple) of Deatsville, Katie Jans (Rabbit)
of Millbrook and Reagan Docherty (Lion) of Prattville traveled to Atlanta
in April to compete in a regional dance competition as part of the Stage
One Dancing Competition. MORE
